On Monday evening, at around 6pm, the news of a grisly road accident was reported along the Isiolo-Meru Road.

It was later confirmed by the police that the family of Nairobi County Assembly Majority leader Abdi Guyo was involved.

Guyo, who is the Matopeni Ward MCA confirmed the death of the four family members.

The MCS confirmed that those who perished in the accident were his brother Hassan Borana, his brother's wife Fatuma Hassan Borana, and their two children Talasso Hassan Borana, and Jamila Hassan.

The brother and the family were on their way back to Isiolo from Nairobi when the accident occurred.

According to a police report from Subuiga Police Station in Buuri East Sub County, Meru County, the car was being driven by Ibrahim.

It developed a right tyre defect while on the way, hence causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The vehicle veered off the road and rammed into the fence.

The police said that the four died on the spot.
