Newly appointed Music Copyrights Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has sent a message to all Kenyan musicians.

This comes barely hours after his appointment was made public by MCSK board.

Mutua promised to work for and with all musicians to make the music industry profitable and meaningful.

He noted that he would work together with musicians to raise the quality of music in the country and restore the glory of the industry.

"My message is simple: I will work for you and with you to make music profitable and meaningful. I will fight for you, defend your rights and put conversations about music at the front table like I did with film. Together we shall raise the quality of Kenyan music and restore the lost glory of the industry. I am your champion.

"In more progressive countries musicians are among the richest and most respected people in society. It can and will happen in Kenya too," Mutua stated.
