He vowed to ensure fairness in the distribution of bursaries and development projects across Mbeere North.
“I want to thank the people of Mbeere North, whichever side you chose. I am now a member of the national assembly. I have made a commitment not only to those who elected me but to all residents of Mbeere North.

The new Mbeere North lawmaker also vowed to complete development projects that were started by his predecessor, Geoffrey Ruku.
“I am very committed to serving the people of Mbeere North and more so to ensure the steps made by the former member of parliament, whatever projects that are underway, I will complete and start others,” he concluded.
Wa Muthende won the Mbeere North seat after defeating Newton Karish of the Democratic Party (DP) and along with several other contenders in the race.
Wamuthende won the by-election with a total of 15,802 votes, defeating Karish, who garnered 15,308 votes.
The tightly contested race drew a number of Kenya Kwanza and opposition figures to campaign for their preferred candidates.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former Public Service CS Justin Muturi led campaigns for Karish in the run up to the mini polls.
During the campaigns, Gachagua adopted a door-to-door approach to appeal to the Mbeere North locals to elect Karish.
On the other hand, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, CS Geoffrey Ruku and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire campaigned for Wa Muthende who vied under the UDA party.
