ODM’s Harrison Kombe has been declared the MP-elect for Magarini after winning the by-election held on Thursday, November 27.
According to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Kombe secured 17,909 votes, defeating Stanley Kenga of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), who garnered 8,907 votes.
Kombe previously lost the Magarini seat in 2024 after the Supreme Court upheld a ruling that nullified his 2022 victory.
The petition had been filed by his closest challenger, Stanley Kenga, who trailed him by a narrow margin, 11,925 votes against Kombe’s 11,946.
The High Court cited significant irregularities in an election decided by just 21 votes, leading to the nullification of the results.
