Lady Justice Martha Koome is set to earn a basic salary of Ksh990,000 which could rise to Ksh1.3 million every month inclusive of allowances.
Her appointment as Chief Justice seems highly likely with reports indicating that President Uhuru Kenyatta urged parliament to expedite the process after submitting her name to National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi on April 28, 2021.
“The committee is requested to consider the nomination on a priority basis,” Muturi said.
The Judiciary will provide her with a house in Runda, but she is at liberty to live where she pleases, like former CJ David Maraga who lived in Karen.
