A form one student who reported to Kangaru High School in Embu county with a chicken as fees has finally gotten help.

Lawrence Murimi reported to school with a rooster on Wednesday and begged the principal to admit him. He was in the company of his mother.

He was dressed in his primary school uniform.

The principal however turned him down with his mother. The two were moved to tears following the rejection.

Their plight went viral on social media forcing some Kenyans to come to his aid.

Kameme TV presenter Muthee Kiengei is among the many well-wishers who came to his aid and ensured the boy is admitted to school.

A visibly elated boy has been pictured in the school together with his mother.

In one of the pictures, the boy is seen being helped to dress up by the principal of the school.

Murimi is one of the many students from poor families who have not been able to join form one for lack of fees.
