The trophy will be in Kenya for two days.

The FIFA World Cup trophy has arrived in Kenya.

The trophy landed shortly past noon at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.


Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and her Tourism counterpart Najib Balala were at the airport to receive the trophy.

The trophy is expected to be taken to State House where President Uhuru Kenyatta will have an opportunity to receive it officially.

The trophy will be in Kenya for two days.

This is the third time the trophy is landing in Kenya.

The world’s most coveted football trophy, the original FIFA World Cup is set to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya on the 26th of May 2022, courtesy of The Coca-Cola Company, in partnership with FIFA.

Kenya is one of nine African countries selected to receive and host the trophy as part of an exclusive tour ahead of Qatar's FIFA World Cup™ event in November.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour will give millions of people in Kenya and around the world the opportunity to get up close and personal with the official Trophy that will be presented by FIFA to the winning country of this year’s FIFA World Cup™ tournament scheduled to take place in Qatar from November the 21st to December the 18th.
