KDF Announces Next Step for 106 Shortlisted Candidates for Civilian Vacancies

The Ministry of Defence has announced the next stage of recruitment for 106 applicants who have been shortlisted for civilian positions within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

In a notice on Thursday, August 6, the Ministry of Defence said the shortlisted candidates are competing for 30 garden assistant positions and 15 support staff/sanitary cleaner vacancies. 

According to the ministry, interviews will be conducted over four days, from Tuesday, August 18, to Friday, August 21, with two interview sessions scheduled each day at 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The Ministry of Defence said shortlisted applicants must attend interviews on the dates and times assigned to them.

"Shortlisted candidates are required to report for interviews on the dates and times indicated against their names. The list of shortlisted candidates is available on the Ministry's website: www.mod.go.ke," the notice read.

The Ministry of Defence further announced that all interviews will be conducted at its headquarters in Nairobi.

"The interviews will be conducted at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, Ulinzi House, Lenana Road, Nairobi," the notice added.

Applicants have also been instructed to carry all the required original documents to facilitate verification during the interview process.

"Candidates must present the following original documents at the interview: national identity card; academic and professional certificates; and testimonials," the notice further read.

The Ministry of Defence also warned candidates against attempting to influence the recruitment process and urged members of the public to report any suspected corruption or fraudulent activities.

"Please note that canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification. Report any cases of bribery, fraud, or other corrupt practices to [email protected]," the notice concluded.

Elsewhere, this comes days after Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital cautioned members of the public against a fake job advertisement circulating online and purporting to offer employment opportunities at the facility.

In a notice on Monday, August 3, the hospital distanced itself from the advertisement, which lists dozens of vacancies across various positions, including nursing interns, clinical officer interns, physicians, pharmacists, housekeepers and other healthcare-related roles.

The fraudulent notice, branded with the hospital's logo claims that applications should be submitted through a Gmail address and provides a deadline for submissions. 

The advertisement has since been marked as fake by the hospital.

"It has come to our attention that a fraudulent job advertisement is circulating online claiming to offer employment opportunities in our distinguished institution," the hospital said.

The management further urged job seekers to exercise caution and verify any recruitment notices before submitting applications or personal information.

"We wish to clarify that this advertisement is FAKE and was not issued or authorized by us. We always publish all vacancy notices through our official communication channels," the hospital added.
