The Nairobi City Water & Sewerage Company has responded to concerns circulating online over alleged water contamination in Nairobi West, Thika Road and Kilimani.
In a statement on Monday, August 10, the company thanked residents for raising concerns and reporting suspected water quality issues.
"We sincerely thank Nairobi residents for their vigilance and for promptly reporting concerns about water quality. Your diligence helps us ensure safe and clean water for all," the statement read.
The company also clarified that the same image circulating online had been associated with three different locations, making it necessary to establish the exact location where the reported incident occurred.
"We have noted that the same photo is currently being shared online in reference to three different locations Nairobi West, Thika Road and Kilimani," the statement added.

Nairobi Water said its technical team had checked the areas mentioned in the reports and established that there were no ongoing works that could lead to water contamination at the time of its assessment.
"Our technical team has confirmed that there are no ongoing works in these areas that could result in contamination at this time," the statement further read.
The company said it was also following up with the customer who initially shared the post to establish the precise location or estate where the concern was reported.
"We have reached and awaiting response from the customer who shared the original post. This will confirm the exact location or estate so that our response teams can investigate and take necessary action," the statement concluded.
Elsewhere, this comes days after a fire at the Musaga Substation in Kakamega caused a power outage affecting customers in five counties in Western Kenya.
In a statement on Friday, August 7, Kenya Power said the incident affected customers in Kakamega, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya and parts of Vihiga counties.
The utility acknowledged the disruption caused to homes and businesses and apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience.
Kenya Power also shared a video showing the fire at the substation, describing it as the incident that caused the power outage affecting parts of the Western Region.
