On Monday, August 10, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa clapped back at President William Ruto over claims that he must win the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) rally in Narok East, Thang'wa told the President that God had abandoned him.
He reckoned that Ruto's fate in the August 2027 polls had already been sealed - that he would become a one-term president
"I had Ruto saying that he must win next year's general election by God's grace. You do not have God's grace; He left you a long time ago, and you are alone. You are a disgrace to this country, and that is why we will send you home," Thang'wa stated.
The Senator called out Ruto for allegedly claiming that DCP leader and former Deputy Pesident Rigathi Gachagua had no vision for the country.

He argued that the President himself was so blinded that he could not see the reality of the country. Thang'wah reiterated that Gachagua was the best pick from the Opposition to face Ruto on the ballot.
On his part, Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya opined that it would take a miracle for the Head of State to retain his seat in the upcoming election.
Thang'wa and Salasya's statement came hours after Ruto stated that the Broad-Based Government needed to win the elections to save Kenya from the clueless and visionless Opposition.
Meanwhile, Gachagua drummed up support for his presidential bid. He called on the Maa Community to back him for the country's top seat.
He promised to restore dignity to the community and repossession any land that had been illegally taken from them once he assumes office as president.
The ex-DP also promised representation of the community in his Cabinet if he is elected President in 2027. He is currently in the region on a popularisation tour.
Gachagua has severally claimed that the region was his stronghold, alongside Nairobi and the Mount Kenya region. He claims that the three areas alone would guarantee him at least 10 million votes.
