Speaking during the launch of the party on Tuesday, August 11, Amisi said the new party would focus on advancing economic liberation, economic renaissance and justice for Kenyans. 

He also noted that the party will position itself to form government in the 2027 General Election.

“We the people of Kenya hereby launch the People’s Renaissance Movement to deliver the country from economic liberation, economic renaissance, economic justice and to form a government of the people by the people for the people,” Amisi said. 

The Saboti Member of Parliament also called on Kenyans to rise up and champion the cause of economic liberation.

Amisi said it is the responsibility of the current generation of Kenyans to fight for the fourth liberation. 

“This fourth liberation is a duty of our generation. The past three generations rose up and did what needed to be done. 

"We are now being called as a generation to rise up with enthusiasm, charisma, courage and patriotism to do what needs to be done today. What needs to be done is economic renaissance,” he added.

The launch of the PM party was graced by several politicians, including former Chief Justice David Maraga, DCP Deputy Party leader Cleophas Malala, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, and PLP party leader Martha Karua. 

Zimbabwean MP Richard Tsvangirayi, Ekuro Aukot and former CS Raphael Tuju also attended the launch of the PM party. 

Amisi’s move to launch a new party comes months after he was kicked out of the ODM Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

Speaking on February 11, Amisi said he had received a letter from NEC notifying him of his removal from the committee.

“What people are not aware of is that they have already kicked me out. I have a letter here sent from the NEC,” said Amisi.

The Saboti MP explained that he was removed from the ODM NEC for illegally holding two party positions.

“The reason they say they are removing me is that I hold two positions. They claim that I am a county chair and at the same time I am the deputy organizing secretary,” he said.
