 Kenyan passport holders are expected to pay between Ksh3,500 and Ksh8,800 for their visa application fees.

The Kenyan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has published new regulations for Kenyans planning to travel to the United Arab Emirates under the visa on arrival option.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, the Embassy explained that there are two options to access the visa on arrival.

The first is known as Service Through Airport. Under this mode, Kenyan nationals and their families must proceed to the immigration desk upon their arrival at the airport.

"Start visa application specifying the required duration: 14 or 60 days. Present to the immigration officer the required documents for issuance of visa (Original Passport, Residence Permit, or Green Card," the statement read in part.

The Application fee for 14 days is Ksh3,523 (100 AED) while that of 60 days is Ksh8,808 (250 AED) per person.

Applicants are then expected to wait at the airport to receive their application results. An immigration officer at the airport is expected to hand applicants their application results.

In the second option, travellers can apply for their visa through the public services portal.

"Select public service, then special visas, then select issuance of visas to citizens of certain countries residing outside their country, as per the required category of stay, 14 days or 60 days.

"Fill in the application form and attach the required documents: (Personal photo, passport, copy of visa/residence permit/ Green Card)," the statement continued.

While the application fee for the 14-day and 60-day visa is similar to those using option one, applicants who use the portal will be required to pay an extra Ksh5,285 for the Smart e-services fee.

The Embassy added that those who apply for a 14-day visa can extend their stay for 14 more days at a cost of Ksh8,808 (250 AED). 60-day visas have no extension.

Notably, the visa-on-entry option applies to Kenyan nationals and their family members who hold ordinary passports and have residence permits or valid visas issued by either the United States of America, European Union member states, or the United Kingdom.

 Kenyan nationals and their family members with ordinary passports and residence permits issued by Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or New Zealand can also enjoy the plan.
