Nairobi Water has announced a mass disconnection exercise targeting customers in Utawala Zone as part of efforts to recover outstanding water bills.
In a notice on Thursday, August 27, the company said the exercise will be conducted by the Upper Embakasi region on Friday, August 28.
"Upper Embakasi region will be conducting a mass disconnection exercise targeting Utawala Zone customers on Friday, 28th August 2026," the notice read.
Nairobi Water further warned customers that failure to clear outstanding bills before the exercise could result in their water connections being disconnected.
"Customers are urged to clear any outstanding bills before the exercise date to avoid disconnection and associated reconnection charges," the notice added.

Elsewhere, the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) has announced a three-day interruption of water supply in several parts of Eldoret and its environs.
In a notice on Tuesday, August 25, ELDOWAS said the interruption is meant to allow for essential routine maintenance at the Chebara Treatment Plant.
The interruption will begin on Tuesday, September 1 at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to continue until Thursday, September 3 at 9:00 p.m.
According to ELDOWAS, the disruption will affect several residential estates, institutions, businesses and customers served through the Chebara-Eldoret Pipeline.
The affected areas include Kimumu, the University of Eldoret and their environs, as well as Marakwet Farm, Kapchumba, the upper parts of Maili-nne and surrounding areas.
Other affected areas are Munyaka, Kapsoya, Action Estates and their environs, together with Rift Valley Bottlers, Bio-Corn and surrounding areas.
ELDOWAS also listed Upper Elgon View, Eldoret Polytechnic, Annex, Langas, Racecourse, Kapseret and their environs among the areas that will experience the interruption.
The water company further identified Chepkanga, Marura, Kamukunji, Mwanzo, Old Uganda Road and their environs as affected areas.
"During this period, the water bowser services will also be unavailable; however, the other water treatment plants will remain operational to ensure the continuity of water supply to unaffected areas," the notice read.
