The Headteacher was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a fellow teacher.
Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a headteacher on Friday, September 12, in connection with the fatal shooting of a teacher.
In a police report published by the DCI, the agency explained that it trailed the suspect, Peter Suter, for four months after Amos Kibet was shot dead in Kerio Valley.
The investigations brought together a team of detectives who pieced together the circumstances surrounding the victim's death before obtaining a warrant of arrest against the suspect.
"Following investigations and subsequent recommendations by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), detectives from DCI Marakwet East have arrested Peter Suter Kipkeu, the headteacher of Koitilial Primary School in Kerio Valley Sub-County, in connection with the murder.
"The case, initially reported at Mogil Police Station, concerns the fatal shooting of Amos Kibet, a civil servant and teacher," the statement read in part.

Suter will be charged with murder contrary to Section 203, as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code.
The DCI added that detectives are still pursuing leads and every thread connected to the case to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
Earlier, detectives apprehended a notorious criminal gang member in Kisumu following a multi-agency operation. During the raid, the police recovered bhang, crude weapons, government stores and tactical equipment.
According to the DCI, the suspect Franklin Okungu alias 'Ninjaman' is believed to be an associate of Oliver Jaoko, another notorious gang leader.
"Preliminary investigations have established that Okungu was an instructor within an outfit known as “American Marines”, reportedly associated with Oliver Jaoko. He is alleged to have trained members of the outfit in the handling of swords, pangas and machetes, as well as karate and other combat techniques," the statement read.
The suspect was charged with several charges including robbery with violence, possession of public stores, possession of property suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained, possession of narcotic drugs contrary to the applicable provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act; and participation in organised criminal activity under the applicable law.
