Gov't Agency Announces Auction of Vehicles, Equipment; How to Bid

The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) has announced the auction of a wide range of boarded assets, including vehicles, laboratory equipment, office equipment, scrap materials, old tyres, used furniture and batteries.

In a notice on Tuesday, September 15, KALRO said the auction will be conducted across various research centres and institutes between September 18 and October 2.

According to the notice, all auctions scheduled to begin at 10:00am.

"Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) invites you to the auction of KALRO Boarded Assets that shall be conducted by MS Garam Investments Auctioneers and MS Igare Auctioneers on the date/day, time and place indicated below," the notice read.

According to KALRO, the first auction will be held on September 18 at KALRO Headquarters, with Igare Auctioneers conducting the sale.

On September 21, two auctions will take place. Garam Auctioneers will conduct the sale at KALRO Veterinary Research Institute, Muguga, while Igare Auctioneers will handle the auction at KALRO Dairy Research Centre Masabaha.

The September 22 auctions will be held at KALRO Dairy Research Institute Naivasha and KALRO Industrial Crops Research Institute, Mtwapa. Garam Auctioneers will conduct the Naivasha auction, while Igare Auctioneers will conduct the Mtwapa auction.

On September 23, Garam Auctioneers will conduct an auction at KALRO Beef Research Institute Lanet, while Igare Auctioneers will conduct another at KALRO Horticulture Research Centre Matuga.

The disposal exercise will continue on September 24 at KALRO Food Crop Research Centre, Njoro, where Garam Auctioneers will conduct the auction, and at KALRO Sheep and Goat Research Centre, Buchuma, where Igare Auctioneers will oversee the sale.

On September 25, Garam Auctioneers will conduct an auction at KALRO Industrial Crops Research Institute, Molo, while Igare Auctioneers will conduct another at KALRO Arid and Range Lands Research Institute, Kiboko.

Three auctions are scheduled for September 28. Garam Auctioneers will conduct sales at KALRO Tea Research Institute, Kericho, and KALRO Beef Research Centre Transmara, while Igare Auctioneers will conduct the auction at KALRO Food Crop Research Centre Kabate.

On September 29, Garam Auctioneers will oversee auctions at KALRO Dairy Research Centre Oljoro-Orok and KALRO Apiculture Beneficial Insects Research Institute Perkera. Igare Auctioneers will conduct the auction at KALRO Coffee Research Institute Ruiru.

The September 30 auctions will be held at KALRO Industrial Crops Research Institute, Mwea, and KALRO Food Crop Research Institute, Kitale. Igare Auctioneers will conduct the Mwea auction, while Garam Auctioneers will oversee the Kitale sale.

On October 1, Igare Auctioneers will conduct an auction at KALRO Food Crop Research Centre, Embu, while Garam Auctioneers will conduct another at KALRO Coffee Research Centre – Namwela in Bungoma.

The final auctions will be held on October 2 at KALRO Coffee Research Centre Mariene in Meru and KALRO Non-Ruminant Research Institute Kakamega. Igare Auctioneers will conduct the Mariene auction, while Garam Auctioneers will oversee the Kakamega sale.

Elsewhere, Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) has announced job opportunities for experienced professionals seeking to join its part-time tutor panel in various nursing specialities.

In a notice on Tuesday, September 15, the hospital said the recruitment was targeting highly motivated and dynamic professionals with the ability to deliver results and uphold high standards of integrity and innovation.

"KUTRRH is seeking to recruit highly motivated, dynamic and result oriented individuals of high integrity, innovation and ability to delivery results to fill the following vacant positions," the notice read.

The available part-time tutor opportunities cover eight areas of nursing, including Critical Care Nursing, Nephrology Nursing, Perioperative Nursing and Oncology Nursing.

Other areas include Midwifery & Reproductive Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.

KUTRRH is also recruiting for three senior management positions, comprising Director, Human Resource and Administration on a contract basis, Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Development on permanent and pensionable terms, and Deputy Director, Administration, also on permanent and pensionable terms.

Suitably qualified applicants are required to submit their applications online through the KUTRRH recruitment portal, clearly indicating the relevant job reference number and position applied for.

Applicants are required to complete or update their online profiles and upload their application letters, copies of National Identification Cards, valid practising licences, certified copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials and any other relevant documents in PDF format.

Applicants seeking the part-time tutor positions are additionally required to attach their Curriculum Vitae, including email addresses and telephone contacts of three referees.

Candidates holding foreign qualifications are required to have their qualifications equated by the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) to qualifications recognised within the Kenyan education system.

The deadline for the Director and Deputy Director positions was 5pm on Tuesday, September 1, while applications for the part-time tutor positions are required to reach KUTRRH by Friday, September 18.
