Ruto Ally Invites Babu Owino to Join UDA

Mwala Member of Parliament Vincent Kawaya has invited his Embakasi East counterpart, Babu Owino, to join the ruling UDA Party. 

Speaking on Wednesday, September 16, Kawaya said Babu and other members of Linda Mwananchi who are uncomfortable with the movement are welcome to UDA. 

Kawaya, who serves as UDA’s National Organizing Secretary, said he would personally receive Babu and other members who choose to cross over to the ruling party. 

“I want to invite Babu Owino and the rest of the team who have been in Linda Mwananchi and have realized there is nothing there; there is no plan. 

“I want to welcome you to the ruling party UDA. As the national organizing secretary, I am going to receive you,” said Kawaya. 

His remarks come after Suna East lawmaker Junet Mohamed advised Babu to return to the ODM party. 

Speaking in Migori County on Wednesday, Junet said the party would help Babu in his Nairobi gubernatorial bid. 

"Babu, please come back home to ODM. Let us build the party together so that we can help you if you want to become the governor," Junet said. 

The ODM MP sensationally claimed that Babu reached out to him to complain about the infighting in Linda Mwananchi.

Junet alleged that Babu opened up about the reservations he had about the faction that is led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

He claimed that his colleague was concerned about Linda Mwananchi's direction following a myriad of events within the faction in recent times.

"There is infighting within Linda Sponsor, which has now become Linda Sifuna. Yesterday Babu Owino called me, and he was crying like a three-year-old baby.

"He told me that he did not know that those in Linda Mwananchi were taking him in the wrong direction," the Suna East MP claimed.
