The road has been cordoned off for safety reasons with the public being urged to keep off the scene.

A suspected explosive device was found on Wednesday, July 13, outside Ebony House, Taveta Lane, off Tom Mboya Street in the Nairobi Central Business District.

The road was cordoned off for safety reasons with the public being urged to keep off the scene.

Bomb experts arrived at the scene and were spotted handling the device.

The explosive had sparked panic among Kenyans plying the route. Businessmen operating in the nearby stalls have been forced to vacate their premises for safety reasons.

Nairobileo.co.ke has learnt that the lane where the explosive was planted has become deserted with security officers being the only people moving from one point to another at the scene.

Planting of deadly explosive devices at strategic points where a large number of people can be affected has been the Modus Operandi of terrorists.

It is not clear yet who could have been behind the act.
