In a statement on Tuesday, September 22, Wakwabubi said the family was still mourning the death of their mother, Mama Alina Namalwa Wakwabubi, when they were confronted with another loss.

"It is with profound shock, deep pain and a heavy heart that I announce the loss of my elder brother, Aggrey Misiko, just days after we laid our beloved mother, Mama Alina Namalwa Wakwabubi, to rest and days after he also laid to rest his son Paul on (4th Aug 2026)," she wrote.

Wakwabubi said the latest death had deepened the family's grief as they continued to come to terms with the loss of their mother.

"Our family is once again confronted with an unbearable loss, at a time when we are still mourning and trying to come to terms with the passing of our mother," she added.

Wakwabubi said the family had lost two important members within a short period, leaving them struggling to cope with the successive deaths.

"Losing two pillars of the family within such a short time has left us heartbroken and searching for strength," she concluded.

This comes days after the Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairperson Francis Meja announced the death of his mother, Grace Tianoi Meja, who passed away on Monday, September 14.

In a statement on Wednesday, September 16, Meja mourned his mother while reflecting on the values and legacy she left behind for the family and those who knew her.

He described her as a woman whose life was defined by love, kindness and strength, saying her influence would continue to be felt by the family.

"She leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, kindness, humility, wisdom, and strength. Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew her. 

"As a family, we draw strength from the beautiful foundation of love and values she built throughout her life," he wrote.

According to Meja, their matriarch will be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 23, at her home in Kimuka, Kajiado West, Kajiado County.

As the family prepares to bid her farewell, Meja said they would celebrate her life while holding on to the memories she left behind.

"As we mourn her passing, we celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the lasting memories she leaves in our hearts. May the Almighty God comfort the entire family, relatives, friends, and all who knew and loved her during this difficult time," he added.
