People’s Party has unveiled the first set of designated officials as the party moves to reorganise its leadership and chart its next direction.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 22, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said the party announced Riziki Makokha as Deputy Party Leader representing Busia County, while Samora K'alosi was named Chairperson from Homabay County.
Mwanamisi Swaleh was designated Vice Chairperson from Kwale County, while Benny Hinn Walubengo was appointed Secretary General representing Nairobi County.
The party also named John Kihiu as Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administration Affairs, representing Kiambu County, and Mahad Abdi as Treasurer from Mandera County.
Dr Jane Sibia was designated Organizing Secretary from Kisii County, completing the first set of officials announced by the party.

Nyoro highlighted the age and qualities of its new Secretary General, Benny Hinn Walubengo, describing him as a 24-year-old who is intelligent and articulate.
He said the discussions had focused on issues affecting the country and pledged cooperation with parties within the opposition.
"We met earlier today and deliberated on many issues affecting our Country. We will work solidly with all Parties within the opposition as we offer credible policy alternatives for the revival of our Economy," he wrote.
This development comes a month after Nyoro announced his exit from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party and joined the People’s Party.
Speaking on Monday, August 17, the lawmaker stated, "For the avoidance of doubt, I know you all know that we left the government a long time ago and dissociated ourselves from the wheelbarrow party, UDA. From what I can see, even those with the wheelbarrows themselves will eventually leave and abandon it."
Nyoro said his move to the People’s Party of Kenya would also see him and his supporters take an opposition role.
"As Ndindi Nyoro, together with my supporters, from today, I have joined a party called the People’s Party of Kenya. As members of the People’s Party of Kenya, we have today joined the opposition," he added.
Nyoro urged Kenyans to consider the People’s Party as part of the political alternatives ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Days later, he lashed out at a leader within the United Opposition over consistent claims that he was President William Ruto's mole.
Speaking on Monday, September 7, Nyoro, without mentioning names, hit out at the leader, stating that he was the one who had plans to work with the President.
He stated that he was done with the President, and those who still wanted to form alliances with him should do so without dragging his name along.
"Next time you want to insult Ndindi Nyoro, stop sending people or using coded language; mention me by name. I will face you eye to eye.
"Whoever wants to go back to Ruto is free to do so. If you want his money, or to work with him, go back, but leave me alone. I have no time to waste," he stated.
Nyoro made it clear that he would work with those who are willing and would not force himself on people who have reservations.
