Omar lauded the officials for their steadfast support for the party and urged them to intensify the recruitment of new members.

On Wednesday, September 13, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) announced the commencement of a series of grassroots engagements in Nairobi.

In a session led by Secretary General Hassan Omar and attended by Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir, UDA met elected grassroots leaders from all 17 constituencies in Nairobi.

Omar lauded the officials for their steadfast support for the party and urged them to intensify the recruitment of new members into the party.

The SG told the constituency grassroots leaders to keep amplifying the achievements of the UDA government, led by President William Ruto, who also doubles as the party leader. On his part, PS Korir encouraged the leaders to rally support behind Ruto's re-election.

UDA Executive Director Nicodemus Bore and his Deputy, Higgins Mbugua, called on the officials to help fill the additional slots available at polling centres occasioned by the high number of registered voters in some areas.

"In the coming days, this engagement will extend to Ward and Polling Centre officials across all eighty-five (85) electoral units, as we activate our grassroots machinery ahead of the 2027 General Elections," the ruling party stated.

Other leaders present for the meeting were Dagoretti South Member of Parliament John Kiarie, George Theuri, and several Members of County Assembly (MCAs) led by the Minority Leader in the Nairobi City County Assembly Minority Leader Anthony Kiragu.

Earlier, UDA  responded to former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s claim that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the 2022 General Election. 

The Wheelbarrow Party maintained that President William Ruto won the election, while accusing Uhuru of continuing to dwell on the outcome of the contest.

"Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta continues to live and wallow in a fool's paradise. His comments today - that he "still believes" that the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the 2022 election and "we all know what happened" - is the perpetual realization that he totally lost power and is going to lose it in 2027," the statement read.
