The deceased had warned the sister against having an affair with a police officer resulting in a feud.

A domestic feud pitting a brother and sister has resulted in the death of a man in Kakamega after he succumbed to stab wounds.

Oscar Shioso, 24, is said to have been stabbed by his sister after they disagreed over a mattress.

The sister identified as Margaret is said to have demanded the mattress which Shioso was not willing to give.

The deceased wife Catherine Chimanwa says Margaret downplayed the extent of her actions after claiming the stab was not severe.

"I told her this is your brother and you could have just beat him up because a mattress costs only Sh 2000 but she said that she has not done much damage and the knife has not hurt him because he is still breathing," Catherine said.

The deceased and his sister are said to have had a protracted feud over her relationship with a  local police officer.

Shioso had warned her sister to stop having an affair with the officer resulting in their standoff.

The body of the deceased has been moved to the Kakamega county morgue.

Margaret is being held as a probe on the matter continues.
