President William Ruto slammed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for claiming that he looks older than him.

On Friday, October 2, President William Ruto slammed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka for claiming that he looks older than him.

Speaking in Mombasa County, Ruto called the comparison backwards, saying true leadership does not depend on an individual's physical appearance or age.

He reiterated that the Kenyan electorate will vote for leaders who have proven they can work for them and deliver on their promises.

The President referred to the Wiper Leader as 'Mr 40', a nickname he gave him to tease him about his 'poor' track record despite being in government for 40 years.

"I have had one of them saying that he is good-looking, and that he looks young. Stop the issue of looks. I hear him comparing me and him based on who looks older.

"Leadership is not about looks; it is about working for the people. Tell Mr 40 whether you consider looks or track records when electing leaders," Ruto stated.

Earlier, Kalonzo had claimed that Ruto looks older than him despite a 10-year-plus age gap between them. He claimed that being President made Ruto age faster because of the pressure that comes with the office.

He explained that the only reason why he managed to age well despite being in politics for a long time was that he joined at a young age and got acclimatised to the political environment.

"Ruto keeps on asking what I have done in the 40 years I have had in leadership. First of all, I became a leader when I was the age of the current Gen Zs. I don't age fast because I began early. When you look at Ruto and me, who looks old?" Kalonzo posed.

The President was also engaged in an exchange of words with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who asked for the contract agreement of the Dangote Refinery in Lamu to be made public.

He claimed that Sifuna had been sent by his sponsor to demand the documents so that they could work a way around to blackmail the investors.

In response, the Senator blasted Rut for calling him 'Mr Empty'. He added that it was a constitutional requirement to make contractual agreements for projects that will impact Kenyans public.
