According to the weather forecast, rainfall is expected in parts of Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu, Garissa, Homa Bay, Kajiado, Kakamega, Kericho, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Migori, Mombasa, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Tharaka-Nithi, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Wajir and West Pokot Counties.

The department said some areas would experience different rainfall patterns throughout the day, including morning showers, afternoon showers and thunderstorms, as well as night showers.

Morning showers are expected in parts of Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Tana River and Lamu Counties. Morning rains are also likely in parts of Embu, Garissa, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Laikipia, Machakos, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Taita Taveta, Tharaka-Nithi, Turkana and Wajir.

In western Kenya and parts of the Rift Valley, the mornings are expected to have sunny intervals in parts of Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Siaya, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga, Samburu, Isiolo and West Pokot.

The same areas are expected to experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms during the week. 

The forecast covers parts of Baringo, Bomet, Bungoma, Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Siaya, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Vihiga and West Pokot Counties.

Afternoon showers are also expected in parts of Embu, Garissa, Kajiado, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Machakos, Makueni, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Mombasa, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Tharaka-Nithi and Wajir.

Meanwhile, sunny intervals are expected in the afternoons in parts of Isiolo, Samburu and Turkana Counties.

At the same time, the weather department has also forecast night showers in parts of Bungoma, Busia, Embu, Homa Bay, Kajiado, Kakamega, Kiambu, Kilifi, Kirinyaga, Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Machakos, Mandera, Marsabit, Meru, Migori, Mombasa, Murang'a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Siaya, Tana River, Tharaka-Nithi, Vihiga and Wajir.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected at night in parts of Baringo, Bomet, Elgeyo Marakwet, Kericho, Kisii, Garissa, Nakuru, Nandi, Narok, Nyamira, Makueni, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Taita Taveta and West Pokot Counties.

Beyond rainfall, Kenya Met has forecast significant temperature variations across the country during the week.

Daytime maximum average temperatures of more than 35°C are expected in parts of Marsabit, Samburu and Turkana Counties. 

Night-time minimum average temperatures of below 10°C are expected in a few areas, including parts of Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Nyeri, Trans Nzoia, Taita Taveta and Kajiado Counties.

The temperature forecast shows Lodwar recording a maximum of 38°C and a minimum of 25°C, while Mandera is expected to reach a maximum of 39°C and a minimum of 26°C. Wajir is forecast to record a maximum of 37°C and a minimum of 23°C.

Other warm areas include Kisumu, which is expected to record a maximum of 36°C, and Voi, with a maximum of 34°C. Garissa is forecast to have a maximum of 34°C, while Lamu is expected to reach 33°C.

In the highlands and other cooler areas, Eldoret is forecast to record a maximum of 27°C and a minimum of 8°C, while Kericho is expected to record 28°C and 7°C. Narok is forecast to have a minimum temperature of 9°C.

Nyahururu is expected to be among the coldest locations listed, with a maximum temperature of 25°C and a minimum of 4°C. Kitale is forecast to record a maximum of 29°C and a minimum of 11°C, while Nakuru is expected to have a maximum of 29°C and a minimum of 12°C.

In Nairobi, the department forecasts a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum of 12°C. Thika is expected to record 31°C and 13°C, while Machakos is forecast to have a maximum of 29°C and a minimum of 12°C.

Along the Coast, Mombasa is expected to record a maximum of 31°C and a minimum of 22°C. 

Malindi is forecast to reach 30°C and 24°C, while Mtwapa and Msabaha are expected to record maximum temperatures of 30°C, with minimums of 23°C.
