Four people have been killed and 16 others injured after a lorry rammed into vehicles and boda boda operators in Meru County.
The tragic accident occurred on Thursday, October 8 night, in the Riverland area of Meru Town.
Photos of the accident seen by Nairobileo.co.ke showed a lorry overturned, with its windscreen shattered.
Other vehicles were also seen wrecked and severely damaged following the accident.
Following the accident, emergency response teams from Meru County were deployed to the scene to provide assistance.

The injured passengers were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were moved to the morgue.
Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma, in a statement, extended his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this heartbreaking incident. To the families who may have lost their loved ones, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences during this painful and difficult moment.
“There are no words adequate to ease the pain of losing a loved one, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers,” he stated.
Governor Mutuma also wished the injured a quick recovery.
“To those who have sustained injuries, I wish you a speedy and full recovery. May you find strength, courage, and comfort as you receive medical attention and begin the journey towards healing,” he added.
This comes a day after a lorry carrying hawkers lost control and plunged into a river in Migori County.
The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night, October 7, at the Osiri bridge along the Kuja River.
Several people sustained injuries and were rushed to the St. Joseph Mission Hospital in Migori for treatment.
In a statement on Thursday, October 7, Uriri Member of Parliament Mark Nyamita said he was deeply saddened by the accident.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident reported last night at Osiri Bridge along River Migori/Kuja, involving a lorry carrying hawkers and pedestrians,” said Nyamita.
The ODM MP extended his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident and wished the injured a quick recovery.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones. To those currently receiving treatment in hospital, I wish you strength and a speedy recovery.
“May God comfort the bereaved families, grant healing to the injured, and give strength to everyone affected by this tragedy,” he stated.
