"Raila never stood for a system that was there to kill, maim and bribe people."
Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga vowed not only to fight for what her late brother, the late Raila Odinga, stood for, but also to fight against what he did not tolerate.
Speaking during Raila's Anniversary celebrations at Migwena grounds on Thursday, October 15, Ruth made it clear that Raila did not stand for a system that killed Kenyans.
She added that her late brother did not also tolerate a system of governance that undermined the rights of citizens.
"Raila never stood for a system that was there to kill, maim and bribe people, but one that ensures that every Kenyan has their rights. He suffered in jail for it," she stated.
The Kisumu Woman Representative promised to protect the Odinga legacy, even if it meant that she lost everything.

On his part, Raila Odinga Junior intimated that he missed his father's voice. He added that the departed former Premier taught him to stand for what is right and people-centred politics.
Raila Junior said that his father took his supporters as his own children and loved them. He termed his life as one fully lived with courage, laughter and service.
"The question we need to ask ourselves is what would Baba want us to do with a future he worked so hard to shape. The answer is; he wanted us to put Kenya first, put devolution to work; he wanted his party to remain united and his people to move forward with confidence," he stated
