This comes a day after the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) cautioned Kenyans against fake recruitment advertisements circulating on social media platforms.

The warning came amid the circulation of several documents purporting to announce recruitment opportunities for various positions in the military, including General Service Officer (GSO) cadets, specialist officers, general duty recruits, tradesmen and women, and Defence Forces constables.

In its clarification, KDF cautioned job seekers against relying on unverified announcements, urging them to seek recruitment information only through official communication channels.

"KDF warns the public against fake recruitment adverts circulating online. No recruitment is ongoing," the military stated.

One of the circulating documents, presented as a Ministry of Defence recruitment advertisement, claims that the military is recruiting officers and service personnel in October 2026.

Another document circulating online presented itself as a Kenya Gazette Extraordinary notice dated October 16, 2026, inviting applications for Regular Force positions for the 2026/2027 financial year.

A third document, allegedly issued jointly under the Kenya Gazette and the Ministry of Defence, claimed to announce a November 2026 recruitment exercise.

KDF noted that members of the public should disregard such information unless it has been verified through the military's official communication channels.

"Official vacancies are announced through mainstream media, the MOD website and official KDF social media platforms. Disregard recruitment information from unofficial sources," the military added.
