The suspect is in custody as detectives continued pursuing additional leads to identify, track down and apprehend his accomplices, who remain at large.

This comes days after police arrested five suspects following a disturbance and violence that disrupted the first-anniversary commemoration of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga at Migwena Cultural Grounds in Bondo.

In a statement on Friday, October 16, the DCI said part of the crowd became rowdy during the event, prompting police officers to intervene and restore order.

"At the ceremony, a section of the crowd turned rowdy prompting officers to move in swiftly and restore order before the situation could spiral out of control," the statement read.

The DCI identified the five suspects as Daniel Odhiambo, Gabriel Aloo, Felix Ochieng, Jerry Okello and Edwin Matongo.

Police also recovered several weapons during the arrests, raising concerns about the nature of the violence witnessed at the event.

"Upon arrest, officers recovered a machete, a sword and a knife, among other weapons," the statement added.

The five suspects remain in police custody as officers process them ahead of their arraignment in court.
