The court granted the request, allowing investigators to interrogate Sang, record his statement, conduct searches and make possible recoveries.
The additional time will also facilitate a mental health assessment and the completion of investigations before he is charged.
"The court granted the 14-day detention period to allow investigators to interrogate the suspect, record his statement, conduct searches, make possible recoveries, facilitate a mental health assessment and complete investigations before charging him," the statement added.
The court directed that Sang be detained at Kilimani Police Station as investigations continue. The matter will be mentioned on November 9.

According to the ODPP, investigations have also linked Sang to the murder of Mbobu, which occurred on September 9, 2025.
The prosecution alleges that the police inspector played a key role in planning the lawyer's killing.
Sang is expected to face charges alongside other suspects who have already been charged before the Kibera High Court in connection with Mbobu's murder.
In the investigation into Dr Mutiso's killing, investigators reportedly recovered two spent cartridges and two bullets from the crime scene.
A ballistic examination linked the recovered ammunition components to a Mini Jericho pistol that was subsequently recovered and examined.
The ODPP said investigators established that the firearm had been issued to Sang.
"Investigators established that the firearm had been issued to Inspector Sang," the statement concluded.
Sang was intercepted while driving a Toyota Fielder along Uganda Road in Eldoret CBD.
The officer was reportedly in the process of selling the vehicle to raise money for his daily upkeep.
"His arrest brings a key suspect who had remained at large into police custody, marking a significant step forward in the two murder investigations," DCI said.
Following the arrest, Sang was escorted to Eldoret Police Station for processing pending arraignment.
The detectives are pursuing further leads to establish the full circumstances surrounding the killings and determine whether other individuals were involved.
Mutiso was gunned down on Wednesday, July 29, in the morning in the Upper Hill area of Nairobi.
Mbombu, on the other hand, was shot dead on September 9, 2025, when motorcycle-riding gunmen approached his stationary vehicle along the busy Magadi Road and opened fire without warning.
