President William Ruto took a swipe at Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka over his visit to Rigathi Gachagua's home in Wamunyoro.
Speaking in Makueni County on Monday, October 26, Ruto said that Kalonzo was going to be 'interviewed' by Gachagua.
He teased Kalonzo, saying he was going to be asked degrading questions during his so-called interview, just as he was in 2022, when the Opposition was looking for a running mate for the late Raila Odinga.
"I have heard that today, he has gone for another interview where he will be asked his name, ID number, and academic certificates. In fact, he is going to be asked why he said that I have been sent by God to build roads," Ruto joked.
The Head of State maintained that instead of attending the degrading 'interviews', he should join the government. He added that at the end of the day, the United Opposition would subject him to the same humiliation he endured in 2022

He sensationally claimed that Kalonzo owed him a favour after he campaigned for him during his 1992 Parliamentary bid when he was first elected as Mwingi North MP.
"When I was still in university and a member of the Youth for Kanu, I campaigned for him, and he was elected MP. I had gone to Tseikuru to collect on the favour and tell him that since I campaigned for him, he should return the helping hand," Ruto said.
Meanwhile, Kalonzo said the meeting was in line with the Opposition's relentless pursuit of unity.
On his part, the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader said that he and Kalonzo had extensive consultations on the liberation of our country and the formation of the 6th administration.
Gachagua reckoned that the Wamunyoro residence remains an integral part of all efforts to restore our Nation.
We are all in agreement that we shall make whatever sacrifices necessary to settle on one presidential candidate to be the captain of our struggle. Consultations continue," the ex-DP wrote.
