Karua has broken her silence after the High Court ordered Gachagua to surrender Sh200 million suspected to be proceeds of crime to the State.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya deputy running mate Martha Karua has broken her silence after the High Court on Thursday, July 28, ordered Rigathi Gachagua to surrender Sh200 million suspected to be proceeds of crime to the State.

Speaking in Nakuru County on Thursday, Karua mentioned that the ruling was evident Gachagua had acquired his wealth illegally.

She urged the electorate to vote for people who would take care of their wealth in the August polls.

Karua told the gathering.

High Court Judge Esther Maina ruled that the Sh200 million held in four accounts at Rafiki Microfinance be forfeited to State on grounds they were proceeds of corruption.

“I have carefully considered the evidence on record including affidavits, annexures, and submissions by all parties and I am satisfied that the funds are liable for forfeiture to the government," Maina ruled.
