Gachagua claimed that the tactic was common place for governments that had failed to deliver on promises made to the people
The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Leader Rigathi Gachagua has hit out on President William Ruto's government over an alleged plan to divide Kenyans along tribal lines.
Speaking in Rongai on Thursday, April 29, Gachagua claimed that the tactic was common place for governments that had failed to deliver on promises made to the people.

"When an administration fails to deliver services, it resorts to pitting communities against one another through a divide-and-rule tactic," Gachagua wrote.
The former Deputy President reckoned that the division tactics will not work as Kenyans have matured politically and will not turn against one another.

He went on to paint a picture of what he thinks Kenyans believe is the ideal government to rule the country
"Kenya is beyond political gimmicks and PR stunts. Kenyans simply want a government that meets their basic needs: free education, better working conditions and free healthcare. Yet those at the top, having already looted more than enough, think otherwise," he stated.
Gachagua added that most Kenyans have faith in the sixth administration which will be formed by the United Opposition.
He promises a government that is compassionate and focused on delivering the services they need.
The DCP told Rongai residents that the next administration will reset the country’s course and restoring constitutionalism, the rule of law, and respect for human life.
"We assure the people of Kenya: we will not let you down or forsake you. Together, we will restore the dignity of our country and its people," he wrote.
Gachagua took a swipe at President Ruto over his trip to Russia. He challenged him to fast-track the repatriation of Kenyans who had been illegally recruited to join the Russian army and fight in the Ukraine War.
The ex-DP told his former Boss to tame his tongue amid the President's recent verbal attacks on his predecessor, Retired Preside Uhuru Kenyatta. He reckoned that reckless talk about Uhuru will not be tolarated by the people of Mount Kenya, or the entire country.
