"I didn’t go to the Sifuna party launch because I had a funeral in Trans Nzoia for a very close friend of mine. Even while I was at that function, I was able to disseminate relevant information pertaining to the Sifuna candidature," he said.

Malala also expressed support for the Linda Mwananchi movement, describing its members as political partners and signalling his willingness to work with them.

He said the initiative needed to be strengthened under the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

"Linda Mwananchi is coming up well; those are my partners, and I would be looking forward to working with them. We need to make it strong as DCP," he added.

Malala further endorsed Sifuna's political ambitions, describing him as a symbol of the generational change young Kenyans were seeking in the country's leadership.

He argued that younger leaders should not continue waiting for an opportunity to take charge, accusing established political figures of seeking to maintain their influence despite having occupied positions of power for decades.

"My position is that Sifuna represents the change that young people so desire in this country. We cannot keep on procrastinating our moment to lead.

"These people who want to remain in power have been in power since the Nyayo era. They led in our past and present, and they want to lead us in our future; we will not accept that," he further said.

Elsewhere, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has announced a five-stop tour of the United States targeting Kenyans living in the diaspora under the Linda Mwananchi campaign.

According to an update shared on Sunday, November 1, the tour will take Sifuna and the Linda Mwananchi initiative to several American cities, including Allentown, the Washington DC metropolitan area (DMV), Dallas, Houston and Seattle/California.

According to the schedule released on the Linda Mwananchi website, the first engagement will take place in Allentown, Pennsylvania, from November 20 to November 22.

Sifuna will then proceed to the DMV area for engagements scheduled between November 23 and November 26 before heading to Dallas, where he is expected from November 27 to November 28.

The tour will continue in Houston from November 29 to November 30 before concluding with engagements in Seattle and California between December 1 and December 4.
