The accident happened as the governor left the funeral ceremony of Mzee Ole Sasai at Enenkipejus village in Melili, Narok North Sub-county.
Governor Tunai and the three other occupants of the helicopter escaped unhurt but were rushed to a nearby health facility for check-up.
The chopper's rotors were damaged in the crash but it was unclear what led to the helicopter mishap.
