Arati told Gachagua that he would not be allowed to fly out of the country through JKIA.
On Tuesday, November 3, Kisii Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati has urged Jubilee Leader Fred Matiang'i to ditch the United Opposition and join the Orange Party.
Arati argued that Matiang'i had no space in the United Opposition, citing Rigathi Gachagua's claim that he, Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka and Linda Mwananchi Leader Edwin Sifuna had enough votes to beat President William Ruto on the ballot.

He asked the former Interior Cabinet Secretary to work with ODM and rebuild the party under the Broad-based government
"We heard Gachagua saying that just three of them are enough to win against Ruto, and my brother from Kisii has been left out. I want to ask my brother to think twice; come so that we can build ODM together and move ahead together," Arati said.

The Governor also mounted pressure on Kalonzo to ditch the United Opposition after he faced disrespect when a section of the Linda Mwananchi Movement supporters booed him during the launch of the party's headquarters.
He urged the Wiper Leader to soften his stance about joining the Broad-based government's side before the election, because according to him, Ruto will be re-elected in 2027.
Arati turned on the DCP Leader for claiming that he would ditch the country if Ruto won the polls. He claimed that Gachagua's statement meant that he planned to cause trouble if the United Opposition lost.
He warned that anybody who initiates or incites violence will not be allowed to flee the country, but will be made to face justice for any atrocities committed.
"He wants to cause chaos so that he flees. We want to tell him that he will not even get to JKIA, unless he uses another airport. We will not allow anyone to wreak havoc and then run away," Arati said.
Earlier, Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung'wah dismissed Rigathi Gachagua's claim that he will fly out to the US if President William Ruto is re-elected as hateful.
Ichung'wah questioned where Gachagua expected ordinary people from the Mount Kenya region to go. He also accused Gachagua of secluding the region from other communities.
