United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairman Johnson Muthama has addressed allegations of Deputy President William Ruto leaving Jubilee Party for the newly formed political entity.
While addressing UDA supporters in Nyali, Mombasa County on June 3, 2021, the former Machakos Senator stated that the DP is still a member of the Jubilee Party and will leave when it is convenient.
"I want to tell you that DP Ruto is Jubilee today and he will not announce that he is leaving because he is the Deputy President, but when the time is right, he will leave Jubilee," Muthama stated.
"We cannot chase him away because he is in Jubilee," he noted.
Muthama urged supporters of the party to be patient and refrain from pressuring the DP to join UDA.

"If me or you, are free, nobody can stop us from joining any other party. But why do you want those who have been elected to leave their parties now. They will face trouble, and start getting ejected, yet they are helping us while in their current roles?" he posed.
"Let us respect each and every of our leaders, and the roles they hold today," Muthama urged.
He further added that UDA will stand by all its members regardless of stature, including aspirants who may fail to win forthcoming elections from the county government to the national government.
