Chief Justice Emeritus David Maraga revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta turned down requests to meet and discuss the administrative challenges that were facing the three arms of government.
The former Chief Justice said President Kenyatta refused to meet him and the Speakers and that is why he wasn't able to deliver as he was expected.
"I requested the President to call the speakers and myself so that we can see how to deal with administrative matters on the interdependence of the 3 arms of government, the President refused. What was I expected to do?" the former CJ posed.
"I wanted Kenyans to know why I was not able to deliver the way I was supposed to. I wanted them to know when my hands were tied," he added.
In 2020 the former CJ accused President Kenyatta of refusing to meet him to discuss the stalled appointment of the 41 judges proposed by the Judicial Service Commission.

"You know I have respect for you as our President, you also know that I have unsuccessfully sought an appointment with you to sort out these issues but it has been futile leaving me with no option but to make this public," Maraga said then.
During his speech then Maraga asked President Kenyatta to direct the AG to begin the process of satisfying the decrees issued by the courts.
"The President's disregard of court orders doesn't bode well for our constitutional democracy and is potentially a recipe for anarchy," Maraga said.
"I must remind you that you swore to defend the constitution and the laws of Kenya. The laws include court orders. Demonstrate that faith and respect the rule of law and comply with court orders," he added.
