Raila Odinga Jnr; the son of ODM leader Raila Odinga has suffered a setback after Twitter declined his application for verification.
Raila Jnr had applied to be verified on the platform, but responded with a rejection message, noting that he had not met the criteria for verification.
“This account will not be verified because it has not meet our criteria at this time,” Twitter responded to Jnr’s application.
Sharing a screenshot of the response on Twitter, Raila Jnr wondered why his application had been rejected and sought to know the person who undertakes Twitter verification in Kenya.

His tweet elicited massive reactions with a section of Kenyans accusing him of being entitled. Others told Raila Jnr to “learn how to follow the process”.
Twitter verification is important as it lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic.
According to Twitter, to receive the blue tick, your account must be authentic, notable, and active.
