Employees from Deputy President William Ruto's office gave their testimonies in the Ksh39 billion illegal arms deal involving former CS Rashid Echesa.
According to the testimony heard in court, Echesa took two white men to the office of Deputy President's office and they were ushered into the waiting room.
One of the security officers called the DP's Karen office where he was informed that Dr. Ruto would not be available on that day as he had other engagements out of town.
Ruto’s bodyguard, Nicholas Maiyo Burkey told the court he ushered Echesa and the two white men into the DP's offices on February 13, 2020.
“I informed Echesa Ruto was heading to Kandara. Echesa and the two white men left the town office,” Maiyo told the court.

Echesa's lawyer Evans Ondieki asked Maiyo if he saw the white men giving his client the Ksh39.6 billion to which the bodyguard said he did not.
In 2020 Echesa was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony by conspiring to make a document with intent to defraud.
He was also charged alongside three others with six counts of making a false document in the Ksh39.5 billion fake arms deal.
They were alleged to have obtained Ksh11.5 Million from Kozlowski Stanley Bruno by purporting that they will award him with a tender to supply military equipment.
