Jubilee nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has called out a Kenyan daily for posting 'fake news' on Deputy President William Ruto's alleged choice for running mate in 2022.
'Mama Miradi' took to social media to call out the Kenyan newspaper in a strongly worded tweet sent out on Wednesday 23rd June 2021.

This is after the newspaper ran an article in print and on its website alleging that DP Ruto had settled on former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri as his tentative running mate in 2022.
Mwangi Kiunjuri was axed from the government on January 14th, 2020 after an unsatisfactory stint at Kilimo House and has since launched his political party The Service Party (TSP).
The article went on claim that DP Ruto's allies are working on a power-sharing agreement that will enable him to form alliances with influential leaders from other regions.
With Kiunjuri as the tentative choice for Deputy President, William Ruto's proposed alliance will allegedly feature a Chief Minister's position to be occupied by a Western Kenya kingpin 'to limit Raila's appeal in the region.'
However, if Senator Omanga is to be believed, the article is false and misleading despite quoting senior members of Deputy President William Ruto's team.
Deputy President William Ruto is facing the fight of his political life as Kenya's biggest political parties unite in a bid to secure the presidency in 2022 and lock him out of State House.
On Friday, June 18th, 2021, Jubilee party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju announced that his party was in consultations with ODM on the formation of an alliance.
“We want to have active engagement with ODM as we head towards 2022 elections in terms of coming up with an alliance which is in the cards,” he said.
The committee constituted with forming the framework for the proposed coalition will submit its conclusions by July 2nd, 2021.
