  • Baringo County Majority Leader Lawi Kipchumba alleged that Gideon Moi’s partners in One Kenya alliance are only interested in his wealth, and have no political value to him.

A section of Baringo County Assembly Members have claimed that Senator Gideon Moi’s political career may be jeopardized in 2022, if he does not team up with Deputy President William Ruto.

Led by Baringo County Assembly Majority Leader Lawi Kipchumba, the MCAs urged Senator Moi to work with Ruto as he prepares to contest for the Presidency in future elections.

According to Kipchumba, the One Kenya Alliance which Senator Moi is allied to now, cannot guarantee him victory in the next General Election.

He alleged that Gideon Moi’s partners in the alliance are only interested in his wealth, and have no political value to him.

“Hii mambo ya siasa ni kama haijakupeleka vizuri… Ili ukue relevant kwa siasa ya hii Kenya, unga mkono William Ruto…Nilikuambia na bado nazidi kukuambia hawa jamaa akina Kalonzo, Mudavadi na hao wengine hawana nia nzuri na wewe, ile kitu wanataka kwako ni ile uridhi ya mali ya baba yako. Watazipora sana bwana Gideon. Weka hizo pesa vizuri... Ungana na William Ruto… You are either with Hustler nation or you will be finished politically,” Lawi said.

Lawi’s remarks comes a few hours after Senator Moi met with his One Kenya Alliance partners; Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Senator Moses Wetangula to chart a way forward for the outfit ahead of 2022.

In a tweet after the meeting, Senator Moi said: “We will continue to forge solid partnerships with leaders who share our vision for a united and prosperous nation where our people have equal opportunity to thrive in their economic and social endeavours.”

The meeting came amid reports that Senator Moi had ditched the alliance and was considering working with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
