Chief Justice Martha Koome has unveiled a new initiative dubbed Justice Thursdays where her office will be dedicating every Thursday of the week to public engagements.
In a statement posted on her official social media handles, Justice Koome not that effective today, her office will use every other Thursday to empower and educate Kenyans on matters of justice.
Justice Thursdays will feature CJ Koome making court visitations, engaging Kenyans on social media, media interviews among others.
“The Office of the Chief Justice introduces Justice Thursdays; a day dedicated to public engagements. Justice Thursday will feature media interviews, court visits, NCAJ outreach programmes, social media discussions touching on various aspects of Justice, mentorship programmes and other direct public engagements with the Honorable Chief Justice,” a statement posted on her Twitter handle read in part.

As a way of debuting the initiative, CJ Koome has lined up several media interviews on Thursday and Friday.
With this initiative, she becomes the first Chief Justice to dedicate an entire day to engaging directly with the public on matters justice.
Reacting to the new initiative, Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi lauded the CJ stating that Justice Thursdays is a “great idea”.
The new initiative resembles the Engage IG series conducted by the Inspector General of Police, where he directly engages Kenyans every Monday on Twitter on matters on law enforcement and crime in the country.
