All incoming flights at Wilson Airport today, Tuesday September 7, 2021 have been diverted to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
The flights have been diverted to JKIA owing to bad weather being experienced around the Wilson Airport area.
In a statement on Tuesday, Safarilink confirmed the interruption and urged passengers to persevere with the abrupt changes as the situation was being monitored.
"We are currently experiencing bad weather conditions at Wilson Airport, Nairobi and hence all incoming flights are being diverted to land at JKIA," the statement read in part.

Wilson Airport majorly serves small and medium-sized aircrafts that operate locally and within the East African region.
Most of the planes that land at Wilson are mainly choppers, private planes, and small passenger and cargo aircrafts.
Meanwhile, the Kenya Meteorological Department recently issued an advisory warning that some parts of the country are set to experience heavy rainfall for the next seven days.
According to the agency, areas to be affected by the rainfall include; parts of Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Makueni, Tana River, Garissa, Turkana and Coastal Counties.
