  • Governor Mutua believes he has the best plan for the country in terms of economic growth and development.

Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has declined to share his plans for the country should he win the presidency in 2022, arguing that some of his competitors are waiting for his blueprint so that they can copy his ideas.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Thursday morning, Mutua noted that he has a detailed plan for the country, adding that he’ll unveil later when the time is right.

According to the Governor, after keenly following and listening to ideas by some of his competitors, he believes he has the best plan for the country in terms of economic growth and development.

“I am seeing promises that have nothing to do with stimulating growth, I am not seeing ideas about our consumer-driven economy... ideas to generate more revenue to meet the demands, we have debts to pay… I'll come up with my manifesto which covers all these things, and I don’t want to talk about them now because some people keep on copying what I say,” he said.

According to Mutua, Kenyans should elect leaders who have the ability to deliver and not ones who make false promises in order to get into power.

Explaining why he is fit to be the president, Governor Mutua noted that he is a leader who promises and delivers, citing some of the projects he’s successfully completed in Machakos.

“I promised the people of Machakos ambulances and as of now, we have ambulances in every location carrying people for free… I promised them I would roll back hunger, I gave them free seeds and chicken and thus Machakos doesn't receive relief foods,” he said in part.

Governor Mutua also used the session to affirm that he will be in the presidential ballot come 2022.
