Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi Luyai has termed Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign tour to Nyanza as the Opposition handing over ceremony.
Amisi took to his social media, urging the people from Nyanza to come out in large numbers to welcome Ruto in the region.
The region has been the Orange Democratic Leader Raila Odinga’s backyard and has played the opposition role for more than a decade.

“If I were Nyanza people, I would come out in large numbers when dp Ruto visits Kisumu and Migori. Just to cheer on the next person who will, after 2022, take over the opposition role that they have played for decades. Call it handover ceremony,” Amisi remarked.
Netizens flocked the comment section with divergent opinions regarding the DP’s visit to the region.
“Better Azimio la Umoja which will provide equitable and Unity than Bottom up nonsense narratives that will divide Kenyans,” Esther insinuated.
“These Azimio la Umoja guys are afraid because they know WSR will be wholeheartedly received by our Nyanza brothers and sisters,” Gitonga Nyangah stated.
Ruto is expected to tour the region on Tuesday, November 8, where he will deliberate with his allies on the economic blueprint for the region before visiting the residents in Kisumu and Migori.
Political pundits are of the opinion that the presidential contest in next year’s election will be between Ruto and Odinga.
