Waiguru cut short her speech as she directed security officers to remove the youths from the venue.

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru was forced to temporarily cut short her speech after rowdy youth stormed her meeting in Kianjiru area on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

In a video seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the youth who appeared in numbers made their way into Kianjiru Dispensary where the meeting was ongoing carrying twigs.

Waiguru cut short her speech as she directed security officers to remove the youths from the venue.

The governor was addressing members of the public on the development projects achieved during her first reign as governor.

She also drummed up support for Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid and the bottom-up economic model.

Waiguru stated that a majority of members of the public from her county are affiliated with UDA, noting that a number of counties from the Mount Kenya region are singing a similar tune.

"UDA Party is one for the hustlers. It belongs to all of Us. If you go to Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, people are all for UDA. Here in Kirinyaga we are also for UDA," she said.

Waiguru stated that the UDA government will focus on empowering ordinary Kenyans in their daily endeavours and ensure a revamped economy.

"For many years, our governments have employed 'trickle-down" but this time around the way forward is bottom-up," Waiguru stated.

The Kirinyaga governor defected to UDA last month and has continued to hold meetings with locals from her county as she drums up support for her re-election.

Waiguru has also been at the forefront of sensitizing Kenyans on the benefits of the bottom-up economic model.
