ODM leader Raila Odinga is set to host a one million dinner ahead of his anticipated presidential bid declaration on December 10.
The dinner is set to be hosted at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi on Tuesday, December 7, at a cost of Sh1 million per participant.
The dinner, in all appearances, aims to raise funds for the ODM leader who is set to declare his interest in the country's top seat.
"December 10, will be a big day to Kenya. I welcome all Kenyans to Nairobi so that they can come and listen to my special message to the Nation," Raila said during his Azimio La Umoja, Mt Kenya chapter.
According to a media report, about 60,000 people are expected to attend his December 10, declaration at Kasarani, an indicator that it will a big political rally of sorts.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, who is Raila's confidante, told Nation that 200 MPs, 40 senators and 40 Governors are expected to attend
"This is the biggest even so far this year, what you can call the mother of all gatherings. Baba will be addressing the Nation. Over 200 MPs, 40 Senators and 40 governors have confirmed their availability. It is like a rehearsal for presidential swearing-in," he said.
The ODM leader's possibility of giving his fifth stab at the presidency has been an open secret, so much so, that he has been availing his economic blueprints while at the same time saying he is yet to decide whether he will vie for the seat.
Raila has been deemed to be President Uhuru Kenyatta preferred successor, thanks to their March 2018 Handshake.
On Wednesday, December 1, while conferring Nakuru city status, the President literally campaigned for the ODM leader and further hinted that when the right time comes, he will hit the road to drum up support for the ODM chief.
