A member of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce has alleged that the 14-member team was not consulted by experts on the content of the final BBI report.
According to Maj (Rtd) John Seii, the experts put together the final report and ambushed members of the taskforce to sign it with giving them prior time to interrogate the final document.
He further noted that when members of the taskforce raised concerns regarding signing the report without previewing it, the experts allegedly told them that everything had been maintained and they should sign the document out of trust.
Maj (Rtd) John Seii claimed that one member of the taskforce was hesitant and had to be fully convinced by the experts before appending his signature.

“We had no time to go through the document and the 14 of us looked at each other in total disbelief when we were asked to sign the final BBI draft that was set to be handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga… The document had been well-prepared and what was left is for us to sign. Seii’s remarks have caused anxiety among Kenyans with many questioning the authenticity of the report launched by President Kenyatta and Odinga.
BBI Implementation
Meanwhile, President Kenyatta and Odinga are leading efforts to implement the BBI report.
Preliminary reports indicate that Kenyans could have a referendum by mid next year.
