Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja has revealed her motivation behind running for the Nakuru Senatorial seat.
Speaking to Sunday Nation, the business mogul cum politician stated that she seeks to change policies which to her are punitive to investors in the coming 2022 general election.
According to Karanja, politicians have been passing legislation that themselves do not necessarily have an understanding of but gravely affects local people and the businesspersons.

“I have seen impunity in the form of taxation introduced in Parliament, and MPs pass those laws yet they do not understand a thing about them and how they will affect the people and businesses. They are just conveyor belts,” Karanja stated.
“I have to be there now to champion these laws to protect these businesses and wealth creation. You can only do that in the Senate… I want to be there to monitor, on behalf of the people, what the governors are doing."
Her style of politicking will be different from dirty politics known by Kenyans in that it would majorly be run corporately and sober politics.
She, however, refuted any claims of aligning her politics under Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga or United Democratic Alliance Party leader William Ruto's outfits.
“My brand of politics will be about what I’m offering, and for that, you do not need to shout. If you are going to work, focus on it. You will not see me where others are shouting.
“I will listen to what the people have to say about the political platform I should run on… for now, I am selling my policies and that decision will come at the right time,” she remarked.
She made public her senatorial bid on October 19 to the much surprise of Kenyans. She opined to have held several consultations with her family and friends before the announcement.
