Red Cross owned TV station News Anchors have penned down emotional messages after the station shut down.
This comes a few days after the management announced that the station was taking a different direction and December 31st, 2021 was the last day it would be on air.
In a post seen by Nairobi Leo, the stations Supervising Editor who doubled up as an anchor and presenter Frederick Muitiriri said the station had moved a different direction, closing down the newsroom.
He added that he was honoured to lead a team of more than 25 budding journalists whom he said will do exemplary well wherever they will go.
“After almost two years serving Switch TV Kenya, lights have been switched off. It's an end of an era. As some maybe aware, the station has moved on to a different direction which meant closing down of our Newsroom . I was honoured and privileged to lead a team of more than 25 young, innovative, smart, creative and extremely hard-working individuals, who I'm sure, will excel in whichever field God will lead them to,” Muitiriri said.

News anchor Lincoln Wambugu who also took to his Instagram page to bid his fans goodbye said that a journey of great conversations and great lessons had come to an end.
“I write this with a rumbling tummy, just like the first time I went on air on Switch TV. One and a half years later, Today, marks the end of a journey characterized by great conversations, wonderful people and great lessons. I couldn’t ask for a better audience. Thank you so much for being part of this journey.
Trust the next chapter, because you are the author. May 2022 be the year of great manifestations. Now on to the next assignment✍...” he said.

Tsaza Munga on her part thanked the Switch TV management for the opportunity, as she told her fans that it was not a good bye, but more of a see you later.
"I will forever miss and cherish this team...the joy, the laughter, the fights.. all was not in vain it was meant to build us and for sure it did. I made friends but most importantly I found a father, sisters and brothers. This is not a goodbye but a see you later. Our hard work will surely pay off. Thank you @switchtvke for the opportunity for growth. Let's meet on the other side of the tunnel...???? the brighter side...." she said.
The media house announced early in November that it would cease its on air operations as it moves to adopt a digital first strategy.
