A 16-year-old girl is currently receiving medication at a Kitui hospital following a botched abortion attempt over the weekend.
A report by DCI indicates that the girl, a class eight girl, was impregnated by her teacher who directed her to get rid of the foetus,
The class eight pupil who is lucky to be alive delivered a 5-month lifeless male foetus, after being rushed to Mumoni health centre in Kitui county.
"According to the victim’s mother, her daughter had complained of severe abdominal pains, prompting her to rush the minor to the hospital," DCI statement states.
The girl is said to have been impregnated by her school headteacher who took her to a clinic where she was given abortion pills.

"After interrogation, the girl revealed that her school headteacher who was responsible for the pregnancy had taken her to a private clinic in Ishiara, last Saturday, February 19, where she was given some tablets and asked to swallow," DCI statement said
What followed were severe abdominal pains that led to her hospitalization.
Detectives are now pursuing the headteacher who has gone missing and the owner of the private clinic who conducted the botched abortion.
